The Brazilian ceramic tile and sanitary ware industry has emerged as an important sector in the global movement for more responsible practices, focusing on production with a lower environmental impact at all stages of the product's life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to disposal or recycling.
The Brazilian manufacturing process is recognized for having the lowest consumption of water, gas and energy per square meter in the world. Manufacturers also adopt and invest in cutting-edge technologies to reduce the carbon footprint of their products.
The Brazilian ceramic tile industry has a high-tech manufacturing plant, with state-of-the-art, energy-efficient equipment, as well as producing high-quality ceramics that comply with the sector's standards.
Among the main actions and results contributing to this recognition are:
- Clay, the raw material for ceramics, is extracted from the surface layers of the soil, which contributes to the recovery of deposits.
- Among the leading countries in ceramics production, Brazil emits the lowest amount of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq) per square meter produced.
- Brazilian production consumes 30% less water than other countries and has the world's lowest energy and gas consumption per square meter.
- The use of natural gas as an energy source has prevented the emission of millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere and now, with a new energy transition to biomethane, production will be even greener.
