The data was released during the Rio Construction Summit 2025, held between September 24 and 26.

During the opening of the Rio Construction Summit 2025, R$189.1 billion in planned investments in civil construction up to 2026 were announced. The sector is expected to generate R$227.3 billion in the production chain and create around 397,000 jobs.

Social housing was another highlight of the opening ceremony. The president of Sinduscon-Rio, Claudio Hermolin, pointed out that R$5.1 billion in projects are planned in the state of Rio alone. For him, the impact goes beyond the economy: "This investment means dignity, quality of life and new opportunities for thousands of families. The Summit was born to be more than an event: it is a movement, a space for Rio to regain national and international prominence in civil construction."

Job creation was also highlighted as a central pillar of the sector. The president of CBIC, Renato Correia, recalled that construction is responsible for more than 3 million formal jobs in Brazil, supporting families and moving the economy in all regions.

In the area of infrastructure, projected investments reach R$119.3 billion by 2026. According to Sinicon's executive director, Humberto Rangel, this is a decisive opportunity: "We're talking about modernizing the country, with direct impacts on logistics, mobility and quality of life for millions of Brazilians."

As well as businesspeople and leaders from the sector, the opening was attended by public authorities. Inês Magalhães, from Caixa, reaffirmed the institution's role in large-scale housing finance. The Secretary of the State Civil House, Nicola Miccione, announced new investments in road concessions and the signing of the Galeão addendum. The Municipal Secretary for Economic Development, Osmar Lima, highlighted the arrival of R$4 billion in data center projects and the role of Rio's new Master Plan.
