My House, My Life Program - Cities plan to contract 3 million homes by the end of 2026
The aim of the program is to make it easier for low-income families to access housing loans by providing counterparts from the federal government or from states, municipalities and the Federal District.

The Cities modality of Minha Casa, Minha Vida, which integrates federal government subsidies with state subsidies, was one of the highlights of the meeting "When we walk together, Brazil grows" held on Monday (15) in São Paulo by associations from the civil construction sector. The Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, was honored for his contribution to access to housing in Brazil.
"There was a gap in the program. The subsidy ceiling was incompatible with the reality of a family earning one minimum wage and one of the solutions we found to increase families' access to home ownership was to increase the value of the subsidy, combining resources from the federal government with local governments. We created Minha Casa, Minha Vida - Cidades (My House, My Life - Cities), in which we increased the federal amount to R$55,000, and the state governments can contribute up to R$30,000, and from then on the housing curve in Brazil turned," explained the minister.
According to Jader Filho, the joint effort will allow the program to reach its target of 3 million housing units contracted by the end of 2026.
During the tribute, the president of the Brazilian Association of Real Estate Developers, Luís França, highlighted the Minister's role in leading the portfolio. "Nobody has done as much for the country's housing as Minister Jader. The numbers speak for themselves," he said.
Minha Casa, Minha Vida - Cidades (My House, My Life - Cities) aims to facilitate access to housing credit for low-income families, by providing counterparts from the Federal Government or from states, municipalities and the Federal District to housing finance operations with FGTS funds for families with a monthly income of up to R$8,600.00.
The benefit is complementary to the discounts granted by the FGTS to families with incomes of up to R$ 4,700.00, reducing or eliminating the down payment required of the borrower in housing finance operations, or even reducing the monthly installments, based on the reduction in the amount to be financed.
